ID Auto-Generator

Creating and maintaining unique IDs for documents is a time-consuming, errorprone process, especially when you need to maintain unique IDs across all of your information and documents, including the information contributed by vendors and service providers. With the ID Auto-Generator, you will be able to:

  • Automatically generate IDs unique across both internal and external systems
  • Generate unique IDs during copy/paste or drag/drop operations
  • Significantly reduce the risk of missing or duplicate IDs
  • Provide greater transportability of information across documents and systems

Content Sorter

Most organizations have a need to provide sorted data at some point, whether to meet specific customer requirements or just to provide information in a friendly,
easy-to-use manner. The Content Sorter makes an easy task out of sorting data or re-sorting editing data throughout the content development process. The Content Sorter enables you to:

  • Sort various constructs in DTDs and schemas, such as table rows and columns, list items, and index items
  • Dynamically sort data, even as content is updated, added and removed
  • Reduce errors and save time managing sorted data

Report Generator Framework

The Report Generator Framework is an extensible utility for authors and business users to develop and run reports on information within documents, such as tag usage, attribute values, and references to graphics and other entities.

Reports can be run on individual documents, or on multiple documents in batch mode, with results displayed in the user interface, or saved to an Excel spreadsheet. Because the utility is extensible, it can be configured for your organization’s business rules and DTD or schema to help you:

  • Ensure complete and correct use of markup according to your business requirements
  • Ensure content is tagged appropriately for dynamic population of downstream processes
  • Easily review the change tracking history for a document or set of documents
  • Group report information by date, user, group, type, or other information relevant to your business processes
  • Improve the quality and consistency of your information

Global Preference Manager

The Global Preference Manager allows organizations to implement global preferences that reflect your specific business requirements. This utility protects your business rules by enabling you to:

  • Implement global enforcement of user settings via a common preferences file
  • Override user-level preferences where they conflict with global preferences
  • Ensure consistent core settings across authoring teams and organizations

Configuration File Manager

The Configuration File Manager is an interface that allows business users to manage Arbortext configuration files, such as .dcf and .pcf files, without technical knowledge of the underlying XML architecture. Using a forms-based interface with dropdowns and pick-lists, business users can quickly and easily update Arbortext configuration files.

Attribute Manager

The Attribute Manager makes it easy to manage and assign values for the attributes defined by your DTD or schema. This application provides an intuitive user interface for business users to quickly and easily update allowable attribute values to adhere to your business requirements, even as your business changes. With the Attribute Manager, you can:

  • Assign attribute values across entire documents with a simple user interface
  • Configure allowable attribute values without changing the DTD or schema
  • Reduce errors and inconsistencies
  • Streamline the authoring process by assigning default values and restricting attribute value options

Collection Builder

With the Collection Builder, you can automatically find and gather specific information within your document and organize this content into new, generated markup elsewhere in the document. Driven by an XML configuration file, the Collection Builder will automatically generate markup and content for XML constructs such as a table of contents, a summary of document changes, master lists, etc. Using the Collection Builder helps you to:

  • Streamline the authoring process
  • Improve the quality and consistency of your information
  • Reduce risk of errors and missed information

Publication Release Manager

For many organizations, managing publication releases and interim updates can be a nightmare. The Publications Release Manager enables organizations to automatically track updates and the publication release to which they are applicable.

This application goes beyond change tracking by allowing you to not only see what changes have been made, but to identify the release to which they belong, making it possible to input updates that will take effect in a future release. With the Publications Release Manager you are able to:

  • Manage publication releases and associated changes/revisions within an easy-to-use, configurable interface
  • Associate revisions to specific publication releases
  • Display differences between publication releases
  • Incorporate past releases into current releases
  • Simplify and streamline publication management processes
  • Ensure conformance to business rules for publication releases
